About

Photographer's Profile

After years of chasing deadlines and distractions, I’ve chosen to refocus my lens—and my life—on what nourishes the mind, body, and spirit. My photography is rooted in the simple, sustaining beauty of everyday life: the color of a ripe tomato just before harvest, the quiet shimmer of morning light through the trees, the stillness that invites healing and reflection.

Each photograph is an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply, and rediscover the beauty that sustains us.

My career started as a photojournalist for a weekly town newspaper. My style has evolved to include nature, dreamscapes, landscapes, and travel & tourism. I’ve been awarded grants and won awards for my imagery, and have exhibited on both coasts of the United States.

Photography Then– My first “real job” was at a local newspaper in my hometown. After talking with the editor, he gave me a few photo assignments on a trial basis. A month into this new photojournalist position, I had my first of many front-page photos.  It meant lugging 50 pounds of camera equipment through seventeen local communities on assignment for human interest and breaking news stories (and through all types of crazy New England weather, too!) I stayed with the newspaper for 7 years before enrolling in computer training school.

My formal art training at Rhode Island School of Design included alternative photographic processes and design.

Photographer's STatement

Laura is a New England–based photographer and artist whose work lives at the intersection of nature and dreams. Drawn to quiet moments and shifting natural light, she captures what is often missed—the subtle, the fleeting, the felt. Her images often emerge from stillness: sunset evenings, empty fields, the edge of weather, the pause just before something reveals itself.

Working primarily with natural light and an intuitive sense of timing, Laura’s photography reflects a lifelong practice of observation—of both the outer landscape and the inner world. Her work is less about documenting a scene and more about translating an experience: the way air feels before a storm, the hush of twilight, the presence of something just beyond visibility. There is a sense, often, of waiting—and of witnessing what happens when patience and alignment meet.

Her creative path has been shaped by a deep engagement with dreams and consciousness. For decades, she has explored the ways imagery arises from within—through dream journaling, lucid dreaming, and creative practice—and how those inner landscapes echo in the natural world. This relationship informs a body of work that feels both grounded and otherworldly, where symbolism and atmosphere quietly intertwine.

Laura’s images have appeared in publications devoted to dreams, spirituality, and the natural world, including DreamTime Magazine, Dream Network Journal, and Electric Dreams Magazine. She is the author of The Art of Nourishment (2026), The Tiny Book of Patina and Petals (2020), and The Tiny Book of Totem Animals (2019), each reflecting a different facet of her visual and narrative voice.

Her work has been exhibited in galleries and shows across the United States, including exhibitions with the International Association for the Study of Dreams and at spaces such as the Warwick Museum of Art and the Poudre River Arts Center. Over the years, her photography has received numerous awards and recognitions, though the heart of her practice remains rooted in quiet exploration rather than accolade.

Laura has spent over two decades supporting creative and educational initiatives, including serving as a gallery coordinator and contributing artist for international conferences. This work has connected her with a global community of researchers, artists, and explorers of consciousness—people who, like her, are drawn to the mystery of inner and outer worlds.

Much of Laura’s work is created in solitude—standing alone under open skies, feeling the weather shift, watching light move across the landscape. There is a sense of smallness in these moments, but also connection: a quiet awareness that somewhere, at that same instant, others may be looking up, noticing, wondering. That shared, unspoken experience becomes part of the image itself.

Through her photography, Laura invites viewers into that space of attention and presence. Her work encourages a slowing down, a softening of focus, and a return to wonder. It asks not just to be seen, but to be felt—like a memory, a dream, or a moment that almost slipped away, but didn’t.
